TrustCommerce Partners with ID TECH for Point-to-Point Encryption Solutions

Reduce risk and liability by preventing unencrypted card holder data from entering your environment.

IRVINE, California, July 2, 2013 — TrustCommerce, leading provider of secure payment solutions, is pleased to partner with device manufacturer ID TECH on our Point-to-Point Encryption (P2PE) offerings serving a variety of environments such as call center, retail, mail order, kiosk, mobile, and others.

“ID TECH is a wonderful partner of TrustCommerce. Their extensive line of encrypting payment devices allows us to provide our merchants with even greater flexibility and payment security,” said Rob Caulfield, Chief Executive Officer, TrustCommerce.

P2PE secures sensitive payment data in flight. Using an encrypting swipe or keypad device, data is protected at the point of entry. The encrypted payment data is passed to TrustCommerce for secure processing. By using encryption at the point of entry, these solutions prevent payment data from being compromised in the merchant environment or during transmission. Merchants can experience increased security while reducing risk and compliance overhead.

Set Up a Secure E-Commerce Payment Application: Part 2

In part two of our two-part series on popular implementation paths for e-commerce, we discuss secure hosted payment pages.

“Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.”  –Leonardo da Vinci

Sometimes the solution for a complex issue can be simple. In our previous blog post, we showed you how the TC Trustee API provides a secure environment for accepting payments and helps merchants reduce PCI DSS scope. It is easy to set up and seamless to the user. TC Trustee Host, hosted payment pages, offers similar benefits, but the path is a little simpler for the merchant.

The TC Trustee Host is a great option for small to medium businesses looking to implement a feature-rich online payment solution that can reduce PCI DSS compliance scope.  TrustCommerce’s solution enables businesses to accept credit card, debit card, and ACH payments from their online shopping cart, donations page, or other payment system with a simple integration process. It also supports one-time, recurring, and subscription payments.

Merchant Payment Solutions

Set Up a Secure E-Commerce Payment Application: Part 1

In this two-part series, we will talk about two popular payment acceptance paths for e-commerce: Embedded API for Direct Post, commonly referred to as transparent redirect, and hosted payment pages. We will look at how the solutions function and things to consider when selecting your preferred method.

Recently, I went to see the Space Shuttle Endeavour at the California Science Center. It is an impressive piece of history to see firsthand. I could not help but think of how often you hear, “This isn’t rocket science.” This actually was rocket science! The complexity and inner workings of this ship are incomprehensible to most of us, a little intimidating, yet awe-inspiring.

The good news is that setting up a secure e-commerce environment doesn’t have to be rocket science, although it may sound like it. Known in the industry as “transparent redirect” or “Embedded API with Direct Post”, TC Trustee API is an elegant e-commerce payment solution that lets merchants do what they do best—manage the web site, user experience and environment—but leave the payment acceptance and security to the experts.

An embedded feature of the merchant-hosted payment form, the TC Trustee API code posts financial transaction field data from the customer browser straight to the TC secure processing platform. It is easy to set up, requiring a small amount of code and basic programming skills.

5 Ways Transit Embraces Electronic Payments

Transit and parking systems are making the move to electronic payments as they face tighter budgets, seek to operate more efficiently, and improve the customer experience. Moving from cash to electronic payments brings many benefits. In many cases, it can improve cash flow and is less expensive than collecting cash. Accepting electronic payments can also resolve other customer experience issues like these identified in a recent MasterCard study1:

  • 65% of US commuters who use cash to pay for mass transit worry about having the right amount to pay for their trip.
  • 36% were unable to take mass transit at some time because they did not have enough cash on hand.
  • 44% have missed a bus or train while waiting in line to purchase a ticket or add money to a fare card.

Take a look at 5 ways transit and parking industries are accepting electronic payments.

New to Electronic Payments? Start Here

Those new to electronic payment processing often ask, “Why do I need a payment gateway?” It’s a great question and this article will help explain.

In order to process electronic payments such as credit cards, debit cards, and ACH/electronic check payments, merchants work with payment gateways. A payment gateway sends the electronic payment data to a processor/acquiring bank that routes the payment securely to the issuing bank. A payment solution handles this complex workflow in mere seconds. An issuing bank maintains the consumer’s credit card account and pays out to a merchant’s account when the consumer makes a credit card purchase.

The gateway can be one piece of an overall payment solution. TrustCommerce payment solutions include gateway functionality, and much more.

Healthcare Kiosks Catch On
